Come see why our dedicated athletes experience rapid growth. See why our Small Division Program has taking titles against large programs and teams twice our size.

We don’t claim to be perfect, we have our high’s and our low’s. But, we have big high’s (like taking 1st place at Nationals hosted by USA Varsity Jamsport and more) when ALL Athletes are focused, dedicated, hardworking, make practices, stretch daily and focus on being the best they can be on the mats. That is the formula for #success

Bay Area Allstars Cheerleaders Perform for President Obama and US Mayors

20 Jun
RAW Elite Allstars received a very special honor this week as being the only Allstars Cheerleading and Dance program from California to perform for President Barack Obama and all the mayors of the United States at the US Conference of Mayors in San Francisco.
A group of RAW athletes spent the week working the amazing Broadway talent Basil Twist, San Francisco 49er Gold Rush Girls and many other special artist. The days event included the special parade for the NBA Champions Golden State Warriors, which lead to the special invite only event that included special appearances by 49er legends, SF Giants greats, legendary singers and of course President Obama.

“It is always an honor when someone sees your hard working athletes special enough to be in the presence of the US Presidents” said Coach Bishop. “It was great to see our cBay Area Allstars RAW and President Obamaheer and dance program Director Dre and all our hardworkng athletes enjoy this special day”.

This event is something these young dancers and cheerleaders will remember for a long time.

Average Cheerleader

26 May

The average tumbler or cheerleader is average not because of lack of skills (or even talent), but a lack of commitment

RAE FAME Allstars takes 3rd at Nationals

10 Apr

This March, RAE took several teams to Nationals. Fame was one that faced several challenges. Tumbling mental blocks, at least a third of the team was down for nearly a full month with either a bad flu, bronchitis or pneumonia. The team had only 2 full team practices in over 2 months to gear up for competition.

In a situation like this, coaches have to consider pulling the team from competition or letting them hit the stage. The illness was not the kids fault, fever’s were high and they had to miss practices. After sitting with our RAE family we decided to allow Fame to take the competition floor.

We are very proud to say despite all their challenges they still took home 3rd. Now to some of you third may not sound great. But you need to understand these kids had only 2 full team practices and had to change every stunt group due to some members being out on competition day.

With all these challenges they should have scored very low, but they hit the mats with pride and scored just 1 point behind second place and 2 points behind 1st. Imagine if everyone was healthy and able to make all the practices and hit the floor with the original routine. Well, we will hit the floor one more time before the season ends. Congrats to FAME and See you at internationals!

Didn’t make the Cheerleading Team – What to do

10 Apr

How to handle not making the cheer or dance team (How to help your child cope with not making the team)

You did all the right things, you took dance and cheer classes. You attend cheer clinics and spent countless hour,

dontlookbackpracticing day and night perfecting the moves. Tryouts day hits, you look your best, you have your biggest and brightest smile possible and you shout those cheers out loud enough for the world to hear. Your dance was flawless, your jumps – sky high. You wait anxiously outside the window with everyone else who tried out. Slowly the coach walks down the hall to post the list. The list goes up and everyone rushes toward the window to search for the name, you look and look again only to find YOUR NOT ON THE LIST.

Not making the team can lead to a list of emotions and it’s hard for friends and family to know the best way to help you deal with that lost or sad feeling you may have.  First, if your a parent, you need to understand that no matter how you feel about cheerleading or dance team, this tryout was important to your child so you must respond with caring and positive comments. Let them know, not making it is not a reflection on them, each tryout is different and some factors weigh more than others. Congratulate your child for having the courage it took to even tryout. So many kids want to tryout but are too scared to do it and your child had enough courage to get out there and do his/her best.  Let them know you understand not to get something you really want in life can be hard, but its not the end of the world. Remind them of other plans they had for the school year, encourage them to join a sport they love. Remind them that their school team is not the only cheer or dance team out there. Encourage them to join an Allstars or Recreational dance or cheer program – they will meet kids from other cities, schools and in some cases can be more fun and challenging than school cheer. Don’t tell your child not to cry, encourage them to show their sadness in a healthy way.

If your the cheerleader or dancer who didn’t make it, then we want to keep a few things in mind. Most tryouts are not just based on your cheering and dancing abilities. Tryouts judges consider a variety of items when judging a competition, some wonder how you would fit in with the returning team members, sometimes your teacher referrals hold a heavier score then your overall performance, in some cases they are thinking about next season’s routine and they are trying to visualize each person doing upcoming routines, and sometimes (and sorry but this is a very sad reality) they just chose teams based on current team members friends/family or kids they just have a preference too (that sucks when it happens, but it does happen).

rawallstars

A couple of things to consider, if you find yourself in this situation. First, if they don’t give you tryout score sheets, ask for some constructive feedback. Usually they will give you tips for the next time you tryout. Second, consider the fact that it may not have been you at all and just something that wasn’t a good fit for them as of right now. If you ever watch the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Show, think about the time the coaches pulled a girl in a room and a performer how much they love the her, how beautiful she is, how amazing she is but they just couldn’t see her on the team. There is nothing you can do about that, if they love you but don’t see you as a great fit, that’s just that. It’s like you meet a really awesome guy but you just can see yourself dating him, no matter how awesome he is the connection just isn’t there. That happens with cheer and dance teams too. Third, remember it is not the end of the world, you can still cheer or dance for a team. Consider joining an Allstar Cheer and Dance program. Our Nor Cali Bay Area Cheerleading loves accepting all members regardless of experience. We have met some amazing cheerleaders and dancers who didn’t make their competitive team, but they join us and they are some of our strongest performers. If you really love cheer and dance, go online and see if you can find a cheer or dance team you can join. It’s a great way to do what you had your heart set on and get the experience you may need in order to tryout for your school next year.

Good luck and always SMILE BIG!

RAW Dauntless Takes Home National Championship Title – Beating large co-ed teams

30 Mar

Dauntless has had its struggles this season. They would go from 2nd to 3rd to 5th to first. They were just all over the place with their scores.

Cheer-66

But as time progressed we made a few changes, let a few members go and the results of these changes were amazing!

This 4.2 small gym, small team hit the Nationals stage. They were pitted against teams of 18, 22+ and more. They had to compete against large co-ed teams on the National stage. We knew going in that it would not be easy to take 4th let alone 1st.

What we found was, the changes made our world 150% stronger. We finally had all the right people in all the right places. Despite going against large programs, gyms that have 10,000 sq ft facilities, a couple of tumble traks and countless coaches. RAW Elite Allstars Dauntless team brought home the 1st place win and a National Championship Title.

The feeling was AMAZING! It reminded everyone that it doesn’t matter how big your team is, the size of your training facility is the not determining factor on how great your athletes will be, that its always better to have a small group of hard working athletes than a large group of kids where the weak athletes are pushed to the back and hidden. What matter most is that every athlete wants to be amazing, that everyone wants to shine and perform to their highest level, that everyone who walks in your door wants the same as you – A strong hard working program that is affordable but competitive.

Congratulations to Dauntless. You brought home the jackets. You beat some amazing teams, some amazing athletes and to be a team of 12 with 1 guy to beat out large co-ed teams – WOW. You should be proud.

National Champions!
